The term feeder fish basically refers to any small fish that is used as live food for another fish normally a larger predatory species of fish. The problem with goldfish is they can contain internal parasites that if ingested by your Oscar can cause all sorts of problems. Nor should the skip feeding process be practiced on juvenile Oscars they need food several times a day each day.

The oscar will eat anything that will fit in its mouth. They are mostly carnivorous and will eat fish insects and worms. In captivity they will accept commercial food such as flakes pellets frozen or live food. Tiger and albino oscar are a species of tropical aquarium fish belonging to the family cichlidae one of the world s largest families of freshwater fishes. This species of fish is found in a variety of habitats throughout the amazon region and it is one of the most attractive species of freshwater aquarium fish. I have had my tiger oscar for about 7 months now..got him at 1 inch .now my oscar is at 6 inches and still growing.feed him cichlid pellets hikari chiclid gold ocean nutrition etc. Buy the pellets small enough for him to swallow.dont feed an oscar fish flakesthey are not good enough for him.dont give him feeder goldfish or feeder fishthey can carry deceases that can kill your

I just bought a baby tiger oscar 4 weeks ago - and he seems to want to continually feed - he gets a diet that my husband made up of fish prawns beef heart spinach peas - i think he would eat 24 hrs a day if we let him - so is there any rule of thumb to feed him - do we feed him till he doesn t want anymore - or should we limit his intake - he has grown dramtaically from the little finger
