My oscar fish is dying
I have an Oscar that i have had for some time and it is dying. I think my Oscar fish is dying and I don t know what to do. Now he is staying close to the top and somewhat sideways.
It wasn t doing so well a few weeks ago and i got milo and treated the water and he seemed to get a little better but he is deteriorating each day and yesterday he just laid on the floor and you could tell it was hard for him to breathe.
Oscar fish He stayed on the bottom of the tank for several days not coming to the surface to eat as he usually did. I have one parrot fish and 4 silver dollar fish with him. This has been the same for a year. I clean the tank fairly often. I ve had oscars before never had problems. I moved from the country with well water to the city with city water set up my tank. I put in chlor out to neutralize the water. Sunday a day later i purchased 2 small oscars. They seemed okay that day. Monday the water got really cloudy we were told this could go away in a few days. Tuesday we bought minnows for them to eat.
So we ve had our oscar about 8 months now. He s done great we are getting our 55 gal tank set up for him to transition into from the 20 gal he is in now. About a week ago maybe more we noticed a white spot so we treated for ich. Then we noticed a hole in my the white patch so i treated for hith with general cure.he did escape the tank for about 30 seconds one night he jumped out Is my oscar fish dying I have bought an oscar fish from the shop yesterday only a little baby at the moment. When i got home the bag was floating in the tank with the oscar in it and he just kept lying on his side at the bottom of the bag. After we let him in the tank he went to the floor and keeps lying on his side. About every half hour he I have 2 oscar fish in a 55 gal. They do fight sometimes but have never really hurt each other.
We noticed a couple days ago that one of them wasn t eating good and staying at the bottom of the tank. But today we noticed that his eyes have a glossy look to them and from his mouth up to the top of his head is changing color.
