Oscar fish Oscar will not eat pellets. Fed him bloodworms and crickets and krill and nightcrawler earthworms. I would try to feed him pellets but he didnt like. So now he really needs to stop eating the meaty foods and i really need him to eat the pellets treat time is over. Oscars get bored with same kind of food even mine got bored with pellet and the best thing you do is stop forcing him to eat pellets. My oscar stopped feeding on pellets about a month ago and i stopped forcing him. I never put in live fishes.

He was never so active when he ate pellets but now after i feed him chopped cucumber tomatoes boiled rice etc and he loves it He wiggles all the way Most fish won t eat anything too big to fit in their mouths. If the pellets are fairly large in proportion to the oscar s mouth try a smaller sized food or even break up the pellets when you feed them . As my oscars have grown they have had different preferences of food. My one loved worms but the other would just play with them now they both won t eat them. I would feed them cichlid pellets then a worm or two.

Now one won t eat worms or anything and the other eats all the pellets.
