Got this oscar 1 month ago at about 8 inches.

Oscar fish I would try to feed him pellets but he didnt like. I do weekly 50 water changes not fun and try to feed my oscars a verity of different foods. As my oscars have grown they have had different preferences of food. My one loved worms but the other would just play with them now they both won t eat them. I would feed them cichlid pellets then a worm or two. An oscar will eat a half bag of pellets in two minutes then regurgitate most of it try to eat what it regurgitated regurgitate that then lay on the bottom of the tank in misery for the rest of the day. The goal as stated in the premise of this article is to duplicate or simulate the natural diet of a wild oscar. This involves more I had my oscar fish for about 7 months now but before a month he suddenly stopped eating pellets. He is still very much interested in eating shrimps and feeder fish but he is just not eating pellets.

When i put pellets into his tank he try s few pellets and then spits them out. I tried starving him for 2 day but its not working. I ve had my oscar for about 6 months he is now about 4 and a half inches long. I have always given him cichlid pellets. I ll give him shrimp or live feeders once or twice a week as a treat. About a week ago he began to spit out the pellets. I went and bought cichlid flakes and he spits them out as well. He will only eat live feeders or shrimp now and i know that is not a healthy diet for him. To conclude generally if an oscar stops eating you should not worry too much. It is a very normal part of their life and they tend to come back to their routine eating habits in just a few days.

Besides a healthy oscar can survive for weeks without eating anything. However if you are seriously concerned about it make a small trip to the vet. If your fish is not eating then it is probably a good idea to only feed every other day or even every three days. Your fish will be perfectly okay you may find that he will eat properly if you reduce feeding. Oscars can be extremely fussy and sometimes treating them like little children can do the trick and get them eating. My oscar is not eating pellets and swims kind of on his side I got my oscar 2 days ago and when i got him i bought 8 guppies the person at the pet store said to just put them all in there. So after he ate all the guppies i gave him 2 crickets and ate them but he wont eat pellets he also is at the bottom alot and after he eats he gasps he is
