Hello we have had a 4inch oscar fish for about 5 months sometimes he will lay on the bottom of the tank for half a day but this time he has been laying there for three days he has eaten a little but he is not himself at all. When we put our hand in he swims and look ok but soon goes to the bottom again. My oscar the oldest fish in my tank appears to be sick. He just lays on the bottom and does not move. He hasn t eaten in about a week. No spots or other outward signs. Water quality is good. I have had him for about 6 years. Any idea what could be wrong with him

I was told that feeder fish carry different diseases which may explain why they are so cheap . I now have a oscar that is very sick and unfortunately it does not look like he is going to make it through.
